Wanted, main sheet traveller, jib tracks and main blocks

Post by PeterV »

For the Swift:
I need a mainsheet traveller, about 4' long. If anyone has one of the old IYE ones that would be perfect.
Two jib sheet tracks, preferably the old Tufnol ones with a plastic fairlead on, each 1' long.
Some period mainsheet blocks, preferably a double with becket and jammer for the lower and a double for the top.

Does anyone have anything suitable taking up space? Happy to pay.

I may well do Peter..... I think I might even have two, but don't think either of them would be long enough. Suspect one was out of a Merlin and the other from a Finn I think....but will try and find and measure and get back to you.

Best

Matt, the ratchet block looks vaguely familiar, I think I might have had one like it on my Swift when I was 14! I was thinking I'd need more than 2:1 on the mainsheet but it's quite possible that I could make a 4:1 by using a single with becket and shackling it to the ratchet block, so yes please, I'm interested! If you're coming to Staunton Harold could you bring them with you?

Ed, I wondered if all I could get would be a Merlin sort of length but I think I'm going to be able to get a longer one.

Hi Peter,
I have:
1) jib track and fittings 400mm long as in the top of the photo. S.Steel top to the track is good but the underneath piece of plastic would need attention (end missing on one piece) One of the cleats has been replaced. (RWO)

2) short fairlead fittings of the tuffnol type but with tuffnol missing. You can buy tuffnol material and it is quite easy to machine) The fairleads themself are certainly OK but I nicked the cleat part for my I14 (sorry!)

3) Mainsheet traveller: only 36" long unfortunately.
