Hi
The boat at Roadford has been abandoned and Has been put in the compound. The mast is not a needle spar but looks the same as a Lighting mast but bigger. Most of the fittings are with it but needs re-roping and the rudder blade needs attention.

The Lightening mast is a Needlespar delta section. They made them originally for Finns as a softer mast than the 3M. It's possible others made a similar section though, I've heard of Proctor Finn masts but never seen one and John Boyce made some too although I've only seen his OK version which was cut and welded at the top.

Thanks, that seems hopeful,

I didn't want another telegraph pole mast, so softer seems good.

Re roping and repairing would be no problem. I'll contact them.

Hi Alan

I've been in contact but they don't know really what I'm talking about, so can you tell me where it is in the pound and any identifying features?

The boats certainly there but may not have been moved up to the compound yet. I'll check this out on Sunday. Ot's the boat that was given to Phil by Another Phil.
Cheers Alan
