I'm not sure if this will be of interest but attached is an article that I was asked to write for the FD Newsletter.
It does presume a certain amount of knowledge but it hopefully isn't too far out there. It also makes specific references to people etc and I'm afraid I can be bothered to edit it but hopefully you may still find it useful.
I've also been asked to write one in a similar vein concerning the working sails and, unless you've died from boredom from this one, I'll try and post that one as well once it's written.

Incidentally if you look on fotoboat there is a sequence where we got the whole lot wrong at starcross steamer yesterday.
What I want to know is how he knew we were going to get hit by a huge gust just there
