Return of the Mystery Boat game for 2009

Post by Nigel »

Hi All,

16ft (allegedly) Wood, and not one I immediately recognise (I did wonder about it being a Hornet but the insignia on the sail does not bear that out).

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Wooden-boat-and-o ... 240%3A1318

Any ideas?

GP 14?
The Rudder is in the stock back to front.
Failing a GP a Sprog?
Simples.

Can't be anything but a GP measured with the ebay tape measure.

Hi all,

it does have the look of a GP but:

16ft? 2ft is a big error even for the ebay tape measure
I cannot make out the sail insignia but it is definately not a bell
It sounds like it comes with a trapeze harness

I am still sat on the fence on this one.

Even he questions the length...
It has a GP rudder, a GP deck layout, a GP hull shape, a GP everything, really...

He's obviously guessing the length - says AROUND 16ft and yes it's got to be a Jeep. Can't make out any insignia on the sail!

Yes the rudder is in the wrong way round. The sail is a spinnaker so would not have an insignia anyway. It is probably the way it is laying and has had various pen marks on it at various times.

Definitely a GP though.

There was a 16' Enterprise for sale recently, so what's wrong with a 16' GP?

And Yachts and Yachting were advertizing a 14' Enterprise as an alternative to the Wayfarer in an article recently, so they've borrowed the ebay tape, too...

Yep, isa GP and yep the blade is in the stock the wrong way. I use a GP blade for one of my Merlins and never thought about doing that, is there an advantage? Perhaps my 18' N12 could use a rudder like that especially when I set the 165 sq ft of canvas on her.
