Hi everybody, this is probably a very silly item to put on here, but thought with all your knowledge of glues and stuff that you may be able to give me some hints. I have a loo seat made of resin but the steel screws holding it on keep coming out... result is a slide sideways and contact with floor!! The only solution I can think of is glue in the screws. So what glue should I use? metal to resin, I am not used to using resin so don't want to react and melt of something. (OK I know, get a new seat...)
Time to get a bit of hiking practice in!! Tie an old mainsheet to the toilet roll holder, grab towel rail in other hand, tuck feet under the wash hand basin and lean back. In my experience there will also be someone shouting at you just like the real thing - but just ignore!!
Rather than use Araldite, which has a habit of not coming off when you want it to, go to a car parts shop and buy a tube of "loctite". This is designed to have enough grip to stop the things working loose but be able to be undone if necessary.
Yes it will be a relief when the toilet humour boys quit the scene flushed with success - and poor Mary still has the toilet equivalent of a rotating mast!!!
