bet you could buy a working one for less than the cost of getting this one going again (esp. no fittings and no rudder!!!) but perhaps this one is a particularly interesting one?

When has that ever stopped any of us!

This does look like rather a nice one.

I do sometimes play with the idea of getting a FF and if I was really in the market, I think I would certainly consider this one which looks very nice indeed.

cheers

Trying to find all the bits cheaply or free can add to the enjoyment of doing a boat up! And you certainly know the boat inside out by the time you get her on the water.

There are 3 buoyancy bags for a Flying Fifteen at a buy it now price of £12 each on ebay right now. I reckon this is abiut 30% of the new price. They are all Crewsaver and of course you won't be bidding against any one so you know the final cost. I won't list them but a search for buoyancy bag will bring them up. They are NOT my bags so no vested interest. There is also a keel for an FF for £20

It rings bells visually those leaf spring floors etc., my guess is that it is a "Tormentor" FF.

Again, I have not put the link, but Boats and Outboards has a FF being broken for spares with all parts less the hull which could make this one a good buy.

I know I may regret this but just leaving to view the ff.

Lovely day for a ride down the coast.

Will take some more pics and try on history.

Marathon trip to deepest Pembrokeshire , great guy, lots of interesting bits in
nvious number of sheds.

Name of ff is probably SnowGoose and was sailind in the Northampton area. but couldnt find number anywhere.

It is a good solid base but no fittings at all. Keel loosely fitted so easy to turn over and work on???

I know Su will kill me but I will be bidding.

Norman the seller also has Dainty Duck ff no 4, nice and dry in a corner ( but major restoration)which he feels needs a new home as unlikely to be restored by him now.

Interesting almost lost history to Tormentor, lots of fifties and sixties dinghy sailors involved in one way or another.
John Chamier (Yachting correspondent Sunday Telegraph.) was the prime mover.
I think, they built Finns, FD's and FF's and a lot else besides, certainly Charles Currey though at Faireys was involved did they in fact finish Fairy Hulls rather than mould their own, I wonder - only across the river Hamble after all.
They were very sound constructions. Maybe they did some sub contract stuff for Fairey's too which would explain the lack of consistency in some Fairy product lines. Fairey were very profligate with bare shells too.
More or less ceased to exist by 1965.
Sadly John chamier died ten years ago or more ago but Charles Currey is still with us (Just.) as is Vernon Stratton, "Shakewells" "Amoire Volente" was certainly built by Tormentor.
There was a deal of black humour to "Cham's" funeral as there was to Jack Knights some years before which lightened an otherwise grim occasion.
DH may know more or anyone else?

The location must have put everyone off or else not as foolhardy as me.

I am now the owner of another restoration project!!!.

If anyone has picks of deck layout of similar I would appreciate as no internal fitting on this one.
