There are 2 Darings, Roger. I assume it is the 505 style one that is meant!
Neither would be a 70's lost class, though.

Rupert,
I'd love to see a Daring at Whitefriars but as fas as I know there are none left. A nice boat - fully cvrda legal but sadly long gone. The 'old' Weston Sailing Club - up at the 'seaweed hut' used to be their spiritual home, along with the Challenger. A quick search on the forum should throw up a number of strings on these boats and some pictures I found of the Challenger (I was looking for what I hoped was a Daring) - both boats of course came from the drawing board of Bill O'Brien who died recently.
It saddens me that there will be a gap in the ranks of the classic boats - an important gap too. Designers such as Bill O'B picked up on the work done by the likes of Jack holt with the Hornet to create easy to build, hard chine 'flyers' (the Challenge was known as the poor mans 505.... basically it was a hard chine version that used a 505 rig). These boats were home built, using cascomite and often poor quality ply with the result that they just didn't last.
A shame - and as I said, a gap in the history!

Thought it needed a crew?
Actually, not very lost either, the MOD named H, so maybe you mean a different one?

Now what possible boat could David be sailing with a trapeze begining with an H?
Could it possibly be a class that is having its Nationals at Netley next year ?
