I have a 1978 built wooden Alb and would appreciate some pointers at UK sources of quality foils. I looked at Phils Foils in Canada but by the time I get stung by HM Customs I dont think it's going to be practical to go that route.

There are the measurements on the Alb website:-

I know of a man in Scotland who would make a bespoke set for you. I have a metal centreplate that I could measue too and there are photos on the Alb website.

Ah....when you say you have a metal centreplate.....do you mean a galvanised steel plate...or an ali one?

If it is Ali and you are ever thinking of sailing then give me a call.

I have managed to source a Milanes centreboard only used 4 times for £300...I reckon thats pretty good 8) and have spoken to Phil Milanes today who will make me a new rudder blade to match

BTW, the RYA measurements link didnt work...it may be that the site works with session cookies that time out.

Thanks for response

Hi Ed, it is so heavy I guess it is steel. Anyway, why would you want a centreplate from an Albacore?

The great thing about Faireys is they recycled bits...Albacore mast collars fit Fireflies, and I suspect Albacore centreplates fit Jollyboats!

RYA have been changing their site recently and most of their links from other sites are broken!
