I have the rig off J17, the hull is unfortunately rotten through and beyond (reasonable) restoration. Could possibly help with any other parts too.

PM me if you are interested.

Great, that sounds very interesting - please do hold onto them for as long as you can - it would be good to re-unite them with a Jollyboat hull at some point.

I hope Rainbow gets in touch soonest.

As a matter of interest...

Which Mast is it:

Original Fairey wooden, Original Fairey wooden-top, early Reynolds Ali, Old Proctor F, Something newer? With mast-jack?

Which Boom is it:

Original wooden (did any survive?) Original Reynolds (same as early Firefly - they broke too) bendy or stiff? Does it have the 'roller-reefing stuff' Is it for transom or mid sheeting?

What other kit is there?

Sorry to hear about J17 Do you mind if I put something on the Jollyblog in remembrance? :-)

talk later

The mast is now behind a pile of hay bales, so I can't see the makers plate, but it is a gold alloy, think its a proctor. The boom is similar, from memory Its centre sheeting.

Have both steel and wood plates, sails (probably quite tired but useable, though the spinnaker may be shot), rudder.

Won't get rid of any.

Will try to get a picture of the hull for the forum.

Honestly, how bad is the hull?

Having resurected 'Mystery' from the point at which, honestly, a cup uf petrol and a Swan Vestas would have been appropriate, not a lot is beyond the point of no return.

I could be interested, if the price were right, in starting again! ( Am I mad? I hear myself asking, as I write this).

You can always phone me and have a chat about it, 07702 136134.

Will I regret this?

Indeed......you can bring a Fairey hull back from practically any condition.

If anybody (Roger?) is thinking about bringing another Jollyboat back to life, please do remember that I have two awaiting re-build and looking for good homes.

cheers
