All,
Please have a look in your sheds or club junk piles for any old National 12 gear that you might have been holding on to.
I am particularly after the following for Planet (672):
1. Sails - preferably not been chewed by mice or covered in rust stains. Does not matter how old they are as long as they are serviceable and white (ish). I am especially short of Jibs.
2. A boat cover. Anything that is devoid of holes and not too crispy. A Firefly one would probably be made to fit. Anything from a 12 footer could probably be made to work in the short term. Got to be better than nothing.
Any odds and ends that you think might be of use for a vintage National 12, although I already have 3 rudders!
Cheers

Cheers Tony,
I will keep an eye on ebay - might be tempted by the jib alone

Re: National 12 stuff
found the N12 main. it has the number 1340 on it which should help date it.
It's in ok nick, but not crispy. did'nt spot any holes or tears

Re: National 12 stuff
Beware of "newer" sails. The characteristics of wooden & alluminium masts differ and a sail cut for a bendy aluminium mast will not set well on a stiff wood one.

Re: National 12 stuff
Sorry, me back again. Remember the 12's are a development class and the sail plan can differ from high to low aspect and it is important you know luff & foot measurements of main. Also ratio of main to jib can differ,(not to mention loose footed mains) so if just buying one sail make sure that it is compatible with the other and you will not have too much or too little total sail area!

The jib shape will be very diffrent too.
You would need a high foot . The ebay one wouldn't fit at all. You would have to move the fairlead a long way forward to get it to work at all.
