Hunts Open 17th September

Post by Nessa »

Where: Hunts SC, St Ives, Cambs PE27 4YA
First Race: 11am, three races in total, invite to stay on for Sunday.

Briefing: 10.30am ish.

Entry fee: tbc.

Should be a great event, much like last year. Hunts sc is a square shaped gravel pit fairly open along one side so can be shifty, but not impossibly so. a good lake for symetric spinnys, especially since we have a sym sympathetic race management team! Local classes include anything from oppies to contenders and fireballs. Local participants should include vintage and classic merlins, kestrel, signets, gps, mirrors, europes and moths. A real mix.

Hope to organise an evening meal in the local pub as with last year. Do let me know if you intend to come along!

Am hoping to liaise with Banbury to allow boats to be dropped off there ready for their Open the following weekend.

Anyone needing extra info please drop me a pm!

I know Pat and Sandy have laid claim to my kestrel, I am hoping Agamemnon will make an appearance, but my moth and ToY don't as yet have confirmed drivers. If anyone is interested let me know.

I know an OK is coming, as are Roger and Garry.

Who else is coming, and what with?

If she's up to a rather heavier than should be weight on the plank I'd quite fancy a go...

I understand from Tim that Banbury may have a water shortage and a decision on the event is pending. Apparently normal racing is suspended.

Hope to get three boats over from Nottingham, an OK, a Solo, and my Alb. Enjoyed it very much last year, don't know if we can stay for the evening yet.
Cheers

Yes, £8 for a single hander, £13 for a double hander, going up to £15 and £20 respectively for anyone who wants to stay on and race on Sunday. The open meeting is of course only the Saturday, but all visitors are welcome to stay and join in club racing on the Sunday, which starts at the later time of 11.30am

As I understand it this event is now combining with the Vintage Merlins as the Banbury event has been cancelled. I am sure Mikey will confirm.

Please could you indicate either here or to me by pm if you intend to come so we can make galley arrangements.

Nessa,
Intend coming with the Finn, if it's repaired in time, if not the Ent. Are there any camping facilities for Friday night?
