resizing jpegs
I'm trying to upload some new photo's of a mystery boat but my file sizes are all too large. Can anyone PM me with how to reduce the size so I can post them? Thanks in anticipation.
Re: resizing jpegs
You don't say whether you are using PC or Mac....so guessing that you on PC ...cos if you were a mac-head you would of said so
In which case, I reckon the easiest (free) way is to use Irfanview from www.irfanview.com
although there are million and one other programs that will do it.
Irfanview may not be the easiest in the world to use so, quickly:
Open image:
click: Image>resize/resample
click either 'set new size' or 'set new size as percentage'
use appropriate size - say under 512pix wide
save as: choose JPEG with quality of about 60 to 70
remember to change the name or add a suffix to the name so you don't loose your original.
You should be able to easily upload them to the forum
cheers

remember that if you have a lot of images it may be better to upload them to photobucket or google images or whatever.
