bronze deckware wanted
I have a fair few bits of bronze deckware from the 18 which I'd like to re-use, but of course there are odds and sods that need sourcing - no mean feat.
I could go to Classic Marine but the prices quoted are.. erm, rather too much and most things too large for what I want.
So I'm looking for a couple of bronze fairleads - dinghy sized and a few old fashioned bronze cleats in the 2" - 3" range... the sort of thing you might find on a late 50's early 60's dinghy.
various bits and bobs will be considered too.
Let us know how much you want for anything and what the postage is.
Thanks all
Tony

Re: bronze deckware wanted
There was a boat jumble last Sunday-at Langham, I heard about on going to Ardleigh SC, and came back with another boat-albeit a rather nice model of a Gaff rigged cutter. There were allsorts there inclusing brass fittings I guess
I found a guy who was from Cromer, who said he had loads of minisail bits.(unfortunately not the elusive sliding seat and mounting)
There is another one at Chantry County Park in Ipswich in May. These are the places for getting bits. I got the exact Hatch cover for my little Adventurer for instance, and an old sailing book all in for 3 quid(that was when it was held at the old Speedway, Hot Rod stadium track.

I have a few bits if they are of interest.
Pr chain plates and tube cleats but I think I have some some buried somewhere.

Hi Chris
I would be interested in the chain plates as I think one would work quite well as the internal stem head fitting for my 14 that I posted about some weeks ago. Could you email me if still available. Thanks

Re: bronze deckware wanted
As mentioned I've ditched the bronze for s/steel. I'll start gathering what bronze I have together for anyone who might need some.
Can this thread made a sticky for bronze/brass swopping and trading?

Indeed and if you go round the house you can see Lord M's antique grand piano I've just restored too!
