Hi,

We are also planning to arrive on Friday evening in a fair sized Motorhome towing the boat, is this likely to present a problem or will we be able to find a space to park up ok?
Also, what is the club/ Water authority's position on dogs as we were hoping to bring Baxter? I am pretty sure that the last time I was at Bough Beech we had dogs with us, but that was probably 15 or more years ago so things may have changed.

Regards

There will be space in the boat/car park for a camper.

The Water Company do not allow dogs on Water Co land which includes the car park.

Unfortunately that probably means that we won't be coming after all, unless there is somewhere else we can park up for the weekend that isn't on Water Authority premises and is walkable distance from the club. Oxford Sailing Club have a similar policy as it is based on a Thames Water Reservoir, however, Dogs are allowed in the car park as long as they are walked away from the water and kept away from the clubhouse area which is closer to the waters edge. It's a real shame as we have been looking forward to coming ever since last year's event and I have been working on the boat to get her in prepared for battle against some other old Moths. I am sure that there must be other Dog owners among our number who will be similarly disappointed, but I do understand that "Rules is Rules!"

I will not be staying at the club but would it be OK to drop the boat off on the Friday late afternoon?

Trevor (JB9) please could you expand on the dog theme? We have several members who won't be able to make it if dogs are impossible. Do you know of any places (camsites/caravan parks) nearby where dogs are allowed?

On the Minisail front, we have 5 boats on their way, I believe, for all or some of the time over the weekend, including ones from Holland and Belgium. I hope there will be more, and will try and keep you updated with numbers. I assume if we fill a form in and bring it along with payment on the day, that is OK?

Another question from the Minisail forum - what sort of prices will we be talking for meals, please?

Sorry for the delay but we were in Cowes and very pleased we won the Sunsail F40 class yesterday.

Dogs:- I am not aware of another site locally but I will ask around.

Entries:- On the day will be fine. Forms could be downloaded and completed in advance but not essential.

Food:- Very very reasonable prices. I think you would struggle to find better value locally.

A Google search showed 3 campsites roughly in the area. Thriftwood is near Stansted, Sevenoaks & appears to be dog friendly. Also Apple Acres in Tonbridge & also one in Seal. I Googled "camp sites Weald". There is also the Caravan Club certificated location over the other side of the reservoir which I think may take tents as well. CC sites are generally dog tolerant.

I hope that helps.

Thank you Trevor.

I'll pass on your comment on the food prices - I think they were wondering how much cash to bring/convert from Euros!
