National Rally 2013

Post by Rupert »

The CVRDA National Rally for 2013 will be hosted by Hunts SC, near Cambridge, over the August Bank Holiday weekend. They have held 2 very successful CVRDA opens in 2011 and 2012, and have a keen team, headed by Nessa, and an enthusiastic local following. This should be a National Rally to remember!

Nessa will have more information as it becomes available.

Excellent - it will be good to see your forum name back out on the water!

Yes and no M25 for me, just the A14 but I don't mind that either-hope to be there with the Minisail , God willing as they say.

We're really excited to be hosting this. The club has a great base of cvrda boats and we'll be making sure as many as possible get out on the water. I'm also keen to hear suggestions for activites for the Rally, both on and off the water.

That would be excellent. If Zenith is going to be there, my suggestion would be to track down and invite other vintage Canoes, and really make a proper event of it? The Saturday afternoon could be planned around them, then, if Hunts were happy with the idea, and we would have to ensure we had a few cameras handy.

I've always liked the idea of a "Strip Bar."

Its a serious suggestion!

Where after racing we can bring our unfinished boats for the odd glass of Dichloromethane and what ever else is in the barrel.

...Well anyway, my thought was to bring my Clinker Restricted N14, (12 strakes each side and 42 ribs = @ 1000 lands.) I would have a couple of barrels of real ale and in return for picking up a scraper the beer, and conversation, would/could flow as the long warm evening stretched into midnight and beyond.
