Jollyboat meeting 2013
Hi All,
Firstly I would like to thank all those who organised and took part in the marvelous and massive Bosham Classic Boat Revival, it must have been one of the largest dinghy events of the year!
Saturday saw four Jollyboats racing and it was good to be able to sail against other boats of the same class.
Talking to other Jollyboat owners there is obviously some interest in trying to get a Jollyboat 'national' meeting together and I would be pleased to hear from any other Jollyboat sailors who might be interested in meeting up next year.
A possible venue would be Bosham or Hayling in the summer.
Also, does anyone know if there is a Jollyboat register? I know Ed has a wealth of information and it would be great if perhaps we could access some of this?
Looking forward to hearing from all Jollyboaters
Chris Wood

Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
As previously done, you're welcome to incorporate the Jollyboat Nationals within the cvrda nationals, though incorporating it within the Bosham event might be a better choice for turnout.
Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
Good idea.
I had hoped that the CVRDA Nationals 2012 would also have been the JB Nationals but it was not to be.
My preference would be to aim for the CVRDA Nationals 2013.

Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
Is Hunts an appealing enough venue for boats that like a good long reach to stretch their legs to get a good turnout? It might be worth looking at the geographical spread and choosing somewhere that suits the majority?
I would love to see this event - 1/2 a dozen JBs on a startline would be worth a dozen of anything else. In fact, if anyone wants a crew/helm, please ask!

Another possible venue (assuming the proposed CVRDA meed there happens) would be Blithfield. Very central, not far from the M6.
Best wishes

Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
Nice to see so much interest in the Jollyboat 2013 Nationals
Could I ask all Jollyboaters to register their boats here so that we can get a list of boats and owners?
If that has already been done perhaps someone could update me?

Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
I think Andrew Richardson (or Ian Sinclair) has the most up to date list of boats and owners.
mine is out of date.
If you want to use the Jollyboat Blogsite for any of this, please do contact me and I will sort out your rights for authorship on the blog.

Re: Jollyboat meeting 2013
Hi Ed, good to hear from you.
Could you possibly send me the last register/list?
Also, I may be able to take on another Jollyboat as 325 is now siling/racing again
Best Regards,
Chris Wood

Chris, delighted you enjoyed Bosham. My eldest son very much relished being your stand in trapeze crew!
Jollyboaters, The Bosham Classic Boat team would be delighted to incorporate a Nationals into next year's event.
Naturally I am biased....but as a venue it has a lot going for it, and there are at least 3 boats in Chichester Harbour already. This year's turnout of included only Chris as a distance traveller, and last year, Ed B. Surely makes sense to base it where there is a nucleus of boats?
Could I suggest we considering adding an extra day to the event?
The existing main event is of necessity short course racing. The Harbour has some great Sailing Clubs, beaches and waterside pubs, and Jollys like room to stretch their legs.....so maybe on the Friday have a longer double scoring race out to one of the buoys just outside the harbour in Hayling Bay - or if the weather is poor, up to Emsworth, Langstone or Chichester with a finish near a hostelry or beach for a quick late lunch/ sandwich/ pint.
We then get back to the club for a shower, change and the evening social while all the other poor competitors are fighting with the Friday night traffic.....

Hi Stewart, sounds good to me
Glad Charlie enjoyed it, tell him we have new sails for next year
I'm happy to go with the flow, if we can get more J's at Bosham...
Can we contact other owners?
Regards, Chris
