There I was innocently saying why don't we try taking the dogs down this road, and I've made Nessa's year :-)

Looks a bit like a bonito up front but too short and closed in stern. Is it my next new plastic boat?

I just think it is rather cute that the poor thing's painter is tied to the hedge... are you expecting flooding down your way?

local news is terribly excited because there is a seal swimming round the fields.

Is the swallow any good as a boat? should I go and make them an offer?

I saw the item featuring the seal, on Look East tonight.http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-20889259
Not wishing to make light of flooding, remembering sandbags in our town fairly recently, also I once had a copper emersion tank burst and almost flood out the kitchen below , one very cold February morning, when I lived in a farm cottage out in in the sticks.
This was a taster to what some poor souls have to suffer.
At last we live atop a hill
However in 2011 Ardleigh SC hosted a 2 day flood excercise, with all the major rescue emergency services including deploying a Wessex Chopper.

Well there's rather a blank on the dinghy database to fill but Burrett says it performs well and has a py of 110 and that it's a Pearson Bros boat that is well designed, safe and stable, with a two part mast simple to rig and sail. Also says it can be una rig for single handed or sloop rig for two up and under sloop rig uses a pivoting centreplate which is moved aft as a daggerboard for single handed.
Sounds like an interesting oddball if it's got all the kit. Could be fun at Whitefriars with the Aquabat and other Lost Classes.
If you get any photos of it especially when rigged, please could I have some for the dinghy database entry?

Don't do it Nessa, unless you want to simply tick a box for having owned one!

The one in Aberystwyth 20 years ago was so heavy 4 of us could barely lift it. Performance wise, for stable, read catatonic. I suspect it would make a Bonito seem frisky upwind.

I been trawling and found there was one on the bay last year, at least shows what it looks like rigged and some other details.
