Post by keithr »

Hi everyone

Trying to plan ahead , can you let me know via the thread if you are coming, wether camping, caravan, dinghyclass/es,no in party.

I have maybe a crew berth vacant in a visiting FD from Nth Wales if anyone fancies a go in speed machine!!!

Clywedog S C invite owners of Classic Dinghies to this annual celebration of sail.
Join us for a great weekend of friendly rivalry and the legendary Clwedog hospitality

Camping & Caravan Facilities at the club ( come early or stay longer that’s fine)
Full catering facilities at the club, snacks, homecooked cakes, drinks , evening bar
Great value We are looking at keeping cost down to around £25.00 (helm & crew)
for entry/camping all in for the weekend . Camping/caravan extra nights £3.00 per person a night
Programme of events (provisional) Starting on Sat with an organised cruise, long distance treasure hunt type event followed by sail past & concourse competition with the main races on Sunday & Monday using 1965 PY No’s (with + or - adjustment according to state of tune) Pig Roast (if enough numbers) on Saturday night (approx £7.00) with the now famous Clywedog pudding selection ( subject to change ) Barbecue on Sunday pm

I would really have liked to be there again this year, but was out voted 3-1 on going riding horse things in the Lake District instead. I won't be falling off horses (terrible creatures, only good for non-veggies to eat), but will take a boat up, as we are staying on the banks of Windermere.

Clywedog should be one of the highlights of the year (and being in May, should be around about when we have "summer". Sad to be missing it.

I'd like to, but I'm away in the Azores until the following week. Maybe next year.

I am free, but her indoors is going to the Netherlands and taking the dog sitters with her, so I may be scuppered by that.

Sorry to miss out this year Keith - we are in the USA. Shame as it is my favourite place to sail. The friendliest club and great facilities

Well, her indoors has seen sense and is willing to come, but I've just looked and seen that this is a three day event. I have to be back home on the Monday to organise racing for sailability then pack and travel to hateful Datchet. I guess that means I miss the main racing, but we will come anyway for the chat and the social. I am planning to bring the little moth which David tells me is likely to be a Stockholm Sprite from the 70s. Probably a really bad choice of boat for the lake, but ho hum.

Oh, and I am perfect FD crew size at the moment, if a stand in is needed :)

so that's me, her, two dogs, a tent and a moff. And I think we will now stay for the Monday too and go straight to Datchet. I am veggie, she is not, nor are the dogs.

I'm not sure there is a bad choice of boat for Clywedog, really. Just a great place to play.
