Hi
Piecing together our Skol Mk. 2 - sail is currently held up by string so I'm putting in a halyard - would anyone happen to have an old masthead sheave box fitting that I can beg/borrow? Mast is around 25 mm dia
Many thanks

Mast-head sheave box
Re: Mast-head sheave box
Because halyards are such a pain with stretching and mast bend on the Moth I used the RS trick (eg feva, RS200 etc) of having a clam cleat at the top of the mast and an external halyard.simonf wrote:Hi

I made the masthead block from an old Laser mainsheet block - the one with a becket. I cut down the block casing so it socketed into the end of the spar, and the sheave diameter was good to line up with the track at the back and the clam cleat at the forward face. Its not over elegant having an external halyard, but its very convenient.
