The carpet is still there, and it makes turning boats over a joy. Looking a little tatty now, though - might have to go hunting in skips again soon for a new one!

Well after that little interlude, I have now carpeted the floor (replacing the cardboard) and while digging out the offcut roll in the old summerhouse (aka the dumping ground (SWIMBO) and by me as "Deep storage," I have come across a stache of battens from the aforementioned "Mouldy Sails."

All are in need of revarnishing, as mould has infiltrated all the chips and scratches. They do come up well, but I fear I shall need to replace a few, so its just as well I am over supplied at the moment.

Ah me. There is always more that needs doing....

Whether to go the whole 9 yards and use natural varnish, I think not. It would be my hope that a One-pot epoxy should be fine with just a couple of coats, and stiffen them up a bit as well.

Still. a useful "1day at a time" sort of a task to occupy me between applying and prepping top coats on the main event.
