Given your recent Magnum 8 experience, did you offer to show him how it's done?
Joking apart, I trust that you pointed him in our direction as he could be a potential addition to the CVRDA Moth ranks.
If there are other boats at Staunton Harold that qualify is it worth trying to hold a one day CVRDA event there? I assume that you must have considered this before and the club didn't support the idea for some reason?
Anyway, the more Moths the merrier as we will soon be as numerous as the Finns!

It did look a fair bit wider than Alan's Moth, but I am of course an expert now! He has heard of the CVRDA and is considering coming to some Events.

I've often wondered about holding an event at our club, but we've learnt that a successful event needs a number of home club entrants. At the moment there's only 2.

Hi Ian
The only thing I can say is Moth Balls. But seriously the more moths you can find the better. Do you know of any scow hulls or if any of the Chelsea Mornings survived.

Spotted this Scow moth in the dinghy park at Haversham. It didn't look like it had moved much recently which U.S. a shame.

Anyone know if this scow at Haversham is for sale, or if there is one anywhere else for sale?

Apparently it belongs to someone called Tom who 'is' Campion boats, as in the link. Might be worth dropping the a line as it really didn't look like thatseemto a lot of recent use.

Found these drawings...

This is an early 50s vintage scow design...

While we're on the subject, I'm now the proud owner of Europa Moth K2588, having bought it from Sami earlier today.

That scow plan reminded me of the South African Dabchicks scows. I found them while looking at Sprogs as one came up locally recently.

They look like a lot of fun.

Scorpion 1925,
I am guessing that it might be you who is having a sail made by Bruce Banks at the moment. If so it would be nice to see some pics of it once you get it rigged. Are you likely to come to any CVRDA/ lowrider events in the coming season as Alan would love to have another Magnum 8 to do synchronised swimming with, sorry, I meant to race against. I am hoping to have a lowrider Moth training at Oxford one Saturday in June with the option to stay and club race on the Sunday. Please let me know if you would be interested in coming down.

Hi Ian

Yes it is me having a sail made. Once it's done I'll definitely get some pictures up.

I would like to get along to a few events, but as I spend a lot of my time travelling with my scorpion it'll only be if the events don't clash.
