Sailaways Anonymous

Post by Nigel »

Hi all,

I am finding myself strangely attracted to this:

Is this a particularly bad idea? Should I resist?

Kathryn says yes, resist. However, we all know she will be a lone voice in the wilderness...

Kathryn is clearly wise.....I however may need an intervention

Can't help thinking it looks a bit Viking and would benefit from a dragon's head on the prow

I had one which I sold on to a nervous would be mature sailor at our club. Still take him out in it now and again. Bullet proof heavy hull. Ideal for pottering and leisurely watching the fleet rush by. I managed to hike out briefly once but it was gusting 40kph +.. Never had the nerve to take it to a CRVDA event.
Go on Nigel
If you bought it we could arrange a secret race somewhere when no one is looking.

In the add, it says built by Pearson Bros Hamble. Is this the same Pearsons who built Finns?

If so it looks like my old Pearson Finn with its wooden rubbing strips.......I can see why you might be attracted. Despite the crude rig it is a pretty boat.

I have sailed this boat, it is one of those surprising boats that make you smile.
