Most likely not an Uffa, but......

Post by Rod »

A friend sent me this listing for a 21' sailboat in Michigan USA. My feeling is that the Uffa heritage got tacked on willy-nilly to make it more attractive, but then I could be wrong.

I am by no means an Uffa expert but it doesn't seem to have the shape of an Uffa boat.

Happy to be proven wrong.

I'm not sure I can recall any Fox designed half deckers that early...

Best guess from my end is the Dutch BM 16m2 (not even close to an Uffa). The mast tabernacle is very typical of Dutch dinghies since they had to traverse under a fair number of bridges to get to sailing waters.

The first thing I thought when I saw the pic was 12sqm Sharpie, but it's not as it's round bildge.

It's got that Finn style centre plate that I associate with european pre war lake racers so Dutch sounds a good guess.
