Banbury 2015

Post by simonf »

Howdy

Hoping to make Banbury in October - hopefully my first CVRDA event - can I ask a couple of questions?

What's the format of the event?

Do I need insurance cert/measurement cert etc.?

Any other advice?

best rgds

You must actually be insured but we don't check paperwork. The entry form will ask you to sign that you have appropriate insurance.
Banbury is always a relaxed event - expect one of Pat K's huge lunches designed to slow us all down afterwards :-)
Some of us will probably turn up on Friday night and camp or camper van at the club. Otherwise get there nice and early to rig up. We usually drive into the dinghy park to drop the boat then quickly move the cars back to the car park.
Turn off the A361 in Byfield towards Upper Boddington and Wormleighton and the club track is on the left before the reservoir. Gates will hopefully be open.
Hope to see you there.

Is this a two day event? If so, we could come on the Sunday, we both have to work on the Saturday.

There are details on the home page. Saturday is CVRDA, evening social event then sunday you can join in club racing. In other words the main CVRDA event is saturday. We'll be taking the 14 and staying for sunday so do bring Agie if you can.

I plan to be there on the Sat, we now have a second classic Finn at my club so I've been encouraging him to join us too - any other Finn sailors going to make it?

Hi Keith
I'm not allowed to sail till next season but am aloud to Sup with suitable support around me and canoe. I think the medics are worried about me hitting my head. I hope you all have a good time.

Alan, sorry to hear you've been relegated to canoeing! Look toward to seeing you fighting fit back in the Finn next year!
