Mast and boom for Firefly

Post by GAv »

I still have the alloy mast and boom, from my scrapped 1960 Fairy Firefly, (that someone on here was supposed to let me know about, ages :? ago),never mind, but asking £85 for both(all stays and halyard out and in hauls complete. Might suit a resto project.

Hi Gav, I have a complete firefly hull and a set of sails. If anyone wants to a boat that would probably be ready to sail. Where are you based?

Hi Gav, no, I don't need a mast and boom, I have used mine for another boat so I have a surplus firefly hull, complete with cb and rudder and sails.

Hi again Chris, thank you for your reply.

Firstly where in Suffolk is the boat hull located?

Is she wood or fibreglass, and either way does the hull need much in the way of repair work?

I haven't been able to sail this year and am having a pace maker fitted in a couple of weeks, so hope to get back on the water next year.

I sold a lot of bits off my old Fairey Firefly Butterfly, (which sits behind my Minisprint hull, in two halves in the back garden) the mast sits atop them, and with the Minisail Sprite in the front, formerly sitting atop the FF, now with a 3 bike Motorcycle trailer alongside it,would think alternatives to avoid too much clutter.
So I would prefer to keep another boat in the winter compound at The Stour Club, if you can give me some idea of price too, to ascertain its viability, that would be appreciated also.

Thanks GAv.

Hi Gav, the boat is stored in Colchester, I have sailed it this year and as far as I can remember it is complete except for the rig,

Wooden hull, no rot as far as I know but some repairs, put the mast on and you could sail.

No trailer but a mirror launching trolley that works.

Email me if you are interested, could deliver at cost.
