New TOY mainsail needed

Post by Simon Hewitt »

Having just bought a TOY with a worn out mainsail, I am now looking for a new sail. Early TOYs were fitted with same sail as a Solo (second hand ones readily available), but is only 8.3m2. TOYs were soon upgraded to 10m2, and that's what I am after. Or any suggestions as to a good cheap sailmaker that could make one using my old one as a pattern ?

I'd try Ian at Morgan sails...

http://www.morgansails.com/

He makes new Minisail sails on request (which can't be often), so may be prepared to add another lost class to his portfolio...

Knew there was something on here, a quick forum search revealed that Seateach (http://www.seateach.com/) had a load of ToY sails a few years ago (2008!). They were selling them off cheap, but I have a suspicion that these were then the new toY sails that appeared on eBay a while back. Might be worth giving them a call

Amy Barlow got a relatively new sail for her try, might be worth asking her via pm?
