What's this sad old specimen???

Post by realnutter »

Might be worth the price for the spars alone, and the trailer if it's included...

Otherwise it'd have to be something special to make restoration viable...

Mast with pivot, big stern tank with hatch on top: sure looks like a Wayfarer to me.

Ed,

such a shame, they've just missed this years Up Helly Aa, for this would make a perfect Viking funeral.

That or "I love the smell of burning plywood in the morning"..... (cue the Wagner......)

If she really does measure exactly 16' then she might be Wayfarer W2

W1 is the other 16' boat (sailing) before production length of 15'10' from W3 on.

Solid mahogany CP box and rear hatch cover construction suggest an early boat, but the rear hatch clips suggest a little later.

Probably mis-measurement, but a shame to see an early 'Woodie' in this state.

EBay tape measure lucky to get within 2 feet, let alone 2 inches.
