Good afternoon.
I have removed fibreglass strip from the join, which leaves a bit of a gap. My thought is to replace what was fibreglass strip with nicely shaped batten epoxied in place.
Your thoughts please on effectiveness for the join etc , or should I stick with the stuff I have removed?

Re: The join between bench and sole
Assuming you are referring to the side tank to cockpit sole joint I have always found a good epoxy fillet is good enough providing that :-
1/ The hull and side tank is structurally sound
2/ it is dry
3/ The gap is not huge
4/ ALL the old varnish is removed
5/ The tank top is securely attached to the topside
For filleting compound I prefer a mixture of colloidal silica or cellulose fibre and wood powder (the dust from the belt sander bag)
