Tufnol

Post by Michael4 »

I've just spent ages stripping old varnish and paint off Tufnol fittings and blocks. They now look 'bleached'. What is your favourite way of restoring their look? Oil? Wax? Linseed? etc etc

Not sure but I think this would best be the "Boiled linseed oil" that is used to seal terracotta tiles etc.

I used boiled linseed oil on an oak bench and it was really sticky for a long time after.........

I'd suggest that clean car engine oll would restore the patina?
