1, Grounded badly near Tewkesbury.
2,Got to Staunton Harold and realised something was missing from centreboard as it kept floating up(.Photo one shows what it was.It is the board on the left)
3, Bought sheet of brass, folded, shaped it, riveted it.
4 Partly filled it with lead. (church roof still intact).
5 Cut new rebate in centreboard, as it was several inches shorter.
6 new ballast ready for Roadford...just.

Re: ballast lost from centreboard
Nice job! How much weight does that add to the centre board?
Is its absence noticeable?

Matt: yes you do notice the loss of weight because the centreboard is not a pivoted one (notice there is no bolt hole) but rolls backwards and down under it botom-heavy weight. Without the ballast it can't roll down and if you push it down it simply bobs up again. In a stronger winds it also helps to counter ballance a fairly heavy wooden mast. It is quite heavy but probably a good bit less than a solid steel plate such as the YW dayboard or the early 12s had.

Very nice
how did you do the edging? solder?
did you graft in a bit of wood to attach it all too? or was it just attached to the end of the wood with the rivets?
