Merlin 2121 For sale. Half-Cut
She's a Proctor ixd which is a six foot wide version of the famous 9 series, built by Bob Hoare in 1968. I had to put new ply on the two side decks a few years ago and is revarnished and painted.Looking good. The original traveller is still in place. (apparently it's a big mistake to take it out and put the modern hoop in its place.) 3 sets of sails ( newest sail is a 2000 jib) two spinnakers, (one elderly the other newish). Good cover and trolly. It's a very handsome Merlin and a nice compromise between the modern saucers with string everywhere and the early narrow ones. I was sailing her yesterday and our Merlin team won all three races. Takes a bit of getting used too but can be a great boat still.
Has been used on several CVRDA events and there's a picture of her on the 'Classic' page. Email me for pics or more info.(click me on the panel at the left)
Price negotiable,( I want to fund restoring an albacore!) so offers around 650?
