Early Int. Moth info.
Re: Early Int. Moth info.
So you managed to find an angle to write the article then David? Looking forward to that copy of Y&Y

Sami,
Yep - I'm now 'building the story' and bidding for some extra column inches so that I can fit the whole lot in!

David,
Have you shown the guys-in-charge-of-inches this thread? Or at least told them how much interest there is (one has to protect one's scources, after all ) I'm sure it would help increase your inches........(surely it's metric by now tho?)

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
Sami,
as always the problem is writing for the 'wider' audience. I've had some very detailed and informative bits of work that never made it onto the paper page for the simple reason that the content did not have that 'public' appeal. In a magazine like Y&Y you have a much larger but very diverse readership.....and to be a successful writer, you have to be able somehow reach them all - or at leas - a big enough slice of them.
It was easier with DSM - I was one of their 'core' writers so could put a classics slant on things and yet still make it work and more importantly - make sure that the article made it's way into the mag.
But watch this space anyway - think you, Nessa and the other followers of the Moth story will be pleased!

A hefty dose of Napthalene will solve that AND help with the Viking funeral for one (or both) of the M boats!!

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
thats what I loved about DSM - some very focused writing (from most of you). Tunnel vision on tunnel hulled moths....davidh wrote:Sami,

Is it just me or is there a look about this of Darth Vader?
Company for the Phantom Menace perhaps?

Nessa,
Do you know the sail number for this Moth? I may be able to take an educated guess at which mark of Magnum it is from info I have here if it helps.

Re: Early Int. Moth info.
It's 3769 Sami. Consensus on the Y&Y forum seems to indicate it's a magnum 5, but any info greatly appreciated.
Michael, I spent most of yesterday thinking it was Darth Vader's helmet ... it is meant to be being painted Red Lilac, but I can't help think a glossy black would suit too...
