Rupert, re cotton sails challenge
answer: Dunno!

It all depends who wants to do what. I may sail with cotton all the time if its not raining. If others only want to be daft for one race only than we can do that. I usually reckon it's quite informal and can be arranged to suit the mood. It just makes the race officer's computer sweat a little if we chop and change handicaps too much. but we can suit you. It could even be part of the pursuit race on saturady.

Now what handicap do I get for cotton main, ali mast, mylar jib?

Chris - that just cancels itself out so I'd give you nothing - apart from the Wingnut for daftness!

OK Pat! It'll be cotton jib too then! unfortunately I havent got my wooden mast sorted since the last one I broke so it will have to be with the ali mast. ( or should I try a carbon one...?)

Actually the old wooden one was 1/2 kg lighter than my ali one - such a disadvantage!

Just a few days to go... hope all the epoxy has set and varnish has dried!

The important job is done - the loos for the camping field are on order, arriving Friday morning.

Tene?

Good to hear you are ready for the off! Just an hour more in work, then the rest of the week can be spent preparing for the weekend...

Music is bought - I decided we'd had too much of the 1960's at events - time for some 1950's tunes - anyone want to dress that way, too?

Hope I can make 1-2 days. 3 would be pushing my luck. I have to decide which ones. Probably aim to come up Saturday pm, and stay till Monday noon, to get 6 races in

Single handed Firefly or if you have a keen crew I can offer a ride. Last time I came to Whitefriars it seemed well suited to Single handed drifting.

Can camping be booked on day of arrival? (Only a very small tent!)

Rupert,

I will try and get both my boats on site on Friday afternoon/evening and then turn up with the camper early Saturday.

See you there.

Michael, yes, camping comes with the entry. If the wind picks up, there may well be a junior no longer sailing his own boat wanting a crewing job, and if calm S/H fine, as you say.

Steve, sounds like a complex piece of logistics! If you need help with any of it, let me know.

Roger, you will be missed. Have a great time with your dad.

Mark - Tent does make more sense!

It is complicated as although I have a towing hook on the camper, I cannot use my trailor as the masts will not clear the camper roof ....Oh why did I buy a 'hightop'!

Need to extend the mast support on the trailor....Another one of those jobs....

Its a good job you are just down the road though.....Although I wish we could cut a channel between our two club lakes.......

 Why not put the mast on the roof of the camper. Wrap a towel aroung it for padding so it doesnt scratch anything, tie a white rag on the back and you're away! :)

Anything goes on a roof!
