I'll be there all weekend on the Finn stand and look forward to seeing you all.
I have some books for you Rupert which were dropped off by Andi Wyer.

Didn't see anybody I knew.
Good to see the Javelin, Hornet and a very shiny wood decked GP14 on the Harken stand.

Re: Dinghy show?
The 20 year old + Hornet won boat of the show good to see that with sufficient investment of time and cash an oldish racing dinghy can still be competative and beutiful.
Re: Dinghy show?
Lovely looking boat, I had no idea it wasn't new!
How can I get my Finn to look like that? And would I dare sail it if I could?

Re: Dinghy show?
I'm pleased the Hornet won as it's a nice boat and I didn't realised how old it was! I hope they make good use of the advertising part of the prize to boost the class.
We decided our boat of the show was the new Bluemotion 550. We were looking at it and Sandy commented that it had exactly the fine prow and lines of a Merlin Rocket so I replied "Is it a Keith Callaghan design because it has that look to it". A voice behind replied "Yes it's one of mine" and we found ourselves talking to the designer!
If you can imagine a Merlin grown up to 18ft then you have an idea of the shape. Keith said it's derived from his recent Hazardous Merlin design. It looks as if it would be perfectly at home on Chichester Harbour racing with the 18s though they've only tried it on Alton Water as yet. I'd certainly like to see it in action.
