HYKEHAM SAILING CLUB Notice of Race for the CVRDA open meeting To be held on Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th July 2019

Schedule of races Saturday 6th July 2019 Briefing 11:00 Race 1 – 11:30, Race 2 – 13:30, Race 3 – 15:15

Sunday 7th July 2019 Briefing 10:00 Race 4 – 10:30, Race 5 – 11:30 Race 6 – 13:30

5 out of 6 races to count. . The club will be open from 09:30am on Saturday, but can be open on Friday evening for early arrivals by arrangement. Camping is available on site on Saturday night for tents and Motorhomes.

Lunch and refreshments will be available on Saturday and Sunday. The BBQ will be lit on Saturday after racing, so bring your own BBQ food.

Prize giving will be held as soon as possible after the final race.

All competitors will be honorary members of Hykeham Sailing club for the duration of the event.

Entries will be accepted on the day, but prior indication would be appreciated to ensure sufficient catering is available. Email steve.sallis@ntlworld.com or phone 01522 809057

1. RULES 1.1. The event will be governed by the Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2017 - 2020. 1.2. Prescriptions of the CVRDA and any other such instructions determined by Hykeham Sailing Club Sailing Instructions.

2. ELEGIBILITY & ENTRY 2.1. Boats must meet the qualification requirements of the CVRDA to be eligible to compete in the CVRDA meeting.

3. ENTRY FEES 3.1. The entry fee for the event will be £20.00

4. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS 4.1. The Sailing Instructions will be available on the HSC website for download. A copy for reference will be available at the event.

5. SCORING 5.1. The low points scoring system of Appendix A will apply.

6. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY 6.1. Competitors participate entirely at their own risk. Hykeham Sailing Club will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the event. A Parent or Responsible adult must accompany a competitor under the age of 18 years and must sign the entry form giving their permission to enter the event.

7. INSURANCE 7.1. Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third party insurance with a minimum cover of £2,000,000.

8. PHOTOGRAPHS 8.1. The Club may appoint a photographer to take photos for publicity.

9. NON NATIVE SPECIES 9.1. In order to prevent the spread of non-native species there is a requirement to ensure that boats are clean before they visit the site using the principle of Check Clean Dry http://www.nonnativespecies.org/checkcleandry/index.cfm. 9.2. CHECK your equipment and clothing for live organisms – particularly in areas that are damp or hard to inspect. 9.3. CLEAN and wash equipment, footwear and clothing thoroughly. If you do come across any organisms, leave them at the water body where you found them. 9.4. DRY all equipment and clothing – some species can live for many days in moist conditions. Make sure you don’t transfer water elsewhere.
Directions
The Hykeham Sailing Club is situated approximately 1 mile off the A1434, half way between the southern end of the Lincoln bypass and the North Kesteven School site.
The road to the club is situated on the left hand side of the Fox & Hounds Pub. Look for the brown Tourist Information sign ’Sailing Club’.
Follow the road around the lake past the Scouts Club and on to the Club site situated on the opposite side of the lake from the main road.
