1960s sailcloth and battens wanted
Am in the process of rebuilding a 1960s vintage jib. Much of the foot is hanging off after unpicking a dreadful "repair" by a previous owner. If anyone has a torn / damaged sail of similar vintage, i would relish the chance to make this jib seaworthy again. Why? Because it is there and, like the rest of the boat, is near original. The mainsail has no battens. Again, would like to stay as original as possible ...
Re: 1960s sailcloth and battens wanted
I have various cotton sail remnants and battens given by Chris Barlow available. Where are you and how many battens of what lengths?
Price is just a donation to cvrda if something is useful, plus any delivery charges if we don't pass near you on our travels.

Battens - these are for an old main (c 1964?) And all 4 appear to be 36" by 1 1/4".
Sailcloth, I can make an effective double sided repair with two strips of 39" long, one 2" wide and one 3" wide.. Happy to make a contribution to CVRDA. Advice on how to do this would be appreciated.

I'll have a delve tomorrow and check sizes.

Many thanks, Pat

Glad it's OK. I still have more of Chris Barlow's offcuts if anyone else needs to patch cotton sails.
