Unknown Proctor wooden boat on ebay

Post by Norfolk Heron »

I cant identify this one - can anyone else - looks a bit like a Kestrel (there were a few early wooden ones I think) but it doesnt look right forward. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/classic-sail ... SwOzleEhw-

Looks more like a Wayfarer to me.
Best wishes

I've no idea what it is, but it looks very nice.
Ah, now I see the other thread, I wondered if it was a Zenith.

I can see the waybarge confusion, Zeniths are very much like a slimmed down, powered up wayfarer... considerably less barge involved!

Yes Pat very much lighter, min weight was 200lb/90kg... wayf 373lb/169kg(so google says).... Zenith a tad shorter at 14’6”

Be great if someone took this one on.... though the timing is hardly promising....
Keith.

Has anyone sailed a Zenith? How do they sail? This is their 3rd listing for this boat.

I think they sail very nicely, decent speed, nimble but also well mannered and comfy... good on all types of water... but I grew up sailing them and might be a tad biased😁

You can add a trap and spinnaker if you want those to play with... though I remember zeniths winning at my club without either.

Are you interested in it? You could contact the seller and make an offer?
Keith.
