Much used by university sailing clubs. The Laser 2 has a number of derivatives, such as the Laser 2 Regatta, and the Laser Fun.

The Laser 2 has a symmetric spinnaker and single trapeze.

The Laser Fun had a reefable mainsail and a roller furling jib whilst the Laser Fun New Wave has a slightly different mast and a 13.5m2 genneker flown from a deck mounted extending pole
