| Boat given to me in 2001 alternative was a skip. In
need of attention - deck rotten and a new tiller required otherwise
complete.
Sail manufactured by W G Lucas of Porchester - sail
dated 1965 - spoken to one of the Lucas Bros who now run the business
tried to locate order detail in their archive for 1965 could not
find relevant detail but does not preclude sails from manufacture
in that year.
Tried the RYA who could not id the class from detail
supplied.
Tried Classic and vintage racing dinghy association
who did not respond
Would assume 1965 to be about the correct period
for the hull as it is ply construction (1/43/16 and 1/8 inch marine
ply)with stitch / glue /taped seams ie not chined construction -
the deck support timbers are cascamited and screwed - the quality
of workmanship is quite high.
The support structures have been renewed using epoxy
adhesives, decks relaid the whole structure epoxied and the cockpit
polyurethaned.
The outer hull is currently being stripped back
to a solid base itwill then be polyurethaned etc. The aim is to
have the boat at the forthcoming Brest '04 festival - in fact acceptance
documentation has been received in todays post!
