Another Jollyboat looking good

I think this is another of Andrew R’s.

I will look up the details shortly – or you can put them in if you know what they are

This is J 26 Fandango a Blagdon finished boat from Plymouth.
There must have been quite a fleet in the 50 s as J 20 to 29 are all listed as Blagdon finished Fairey hulls.
Fandango has no tanks. The mainsheet traveller thwart has been removed the deck stripped and revarnished and I have started on sanding the inside.

Wonderful.

There was certainly a fleet of Jollyboats sailing out of Mayflower in the late 50s early 60s. I think many of the crews moved into Hornets. But certainly I have a regatta program from the 50s with details of Jollyboat fleet racing and photos.

Would still love to one day be able to see the papers you refer to as ‘all listed as…..’ John Niven said he had some papers like this when he was secretary and would I love to see them sometime. Any chance of getting them digitised for this website. It would be a great resource!

Cheers
