Rigging a Spinnaker

I have an 18ft Jolly Boat that I have just fitted with a spinnaker though I have yet to finish rigging it.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to the simplest and cleanest way ro rig the sail?

Thanks,

I don’t think there is anything really that different about rigging the kite on a Jollyboat to any other largish racing dinghy.

The only issue really is that the kite is so big…..and the hull is pretty damn thin, which means that you end up with very large sheet loadings, which transfers into equally large fittings to hold the sheets.

If you are still stuck, I am sure we can give you a few more hints, but good luck

Hi, the fittings I use are not that large because I only use the kite in moderate winds. Take a look athttp://picasaweb.google.co.uk/tchanter/J9#5117460311588482050 which shows where the sheets run to, they are white. The pole uphaul is shock cord, downhaul goes through the deck just in front of the mast and then to the c/b case so the crew can adjust.
Kite hoist runs to the back of the c/b case. It just ends there so needs a few pulls to get the kit to the top. I am currently changing to pump system, similar to Fireballs.
Hope that helps
