Association Gets Full set of Jollyboat plans from ebay

Andrew Richardson – the association’s ‘Keeper of Records’  has just had a great success on ebay.

A full set of Fairey Marine plans came up for auction and the owner emailed me to ask if I was interested.  I was, but it made far more sense for Andrew to bid and me to pray that he got them rather than try and compete.

Well he did and I was thrilled!  It is a fantastic bit of news for the asociation and a completely irreplaceable part of the history for our class.  Not quite sure how yet, but I hope that we will be able to digitise them and put them up on the site here some time in the future:

Here is what the full set of plans  includes:

I was wondering what happened to that full set of plans? Are they available for download anywhere? I am located in Hamburg, Germany and would love to build a new Jollyboat (wood, of course!).

There are three sets of plans available for the Jollyboat and two of these are pretty easily available.

You can download the original Uffa Fox set from here: http://www.uffafox.com/jollybt.htm

You can download the lines from the Australian association on this website here:

The plans that were on ebay are the Fairey Marine plans, which if they are the full set, are the best and most comprehensive of the plans.

I can’t remember who bought these…..but I am sure they are safe 🙂

It might be possible to get you a set if you were considering building a new shell.

Tell us what your intentions are!

cheers

I have found a glass Jollyboat here in Florida. As soon as I pick it up, which should be in the next two weeks, I will send pictures. I have previously restored a glass Thistle dinghy and a wooden Rhodes Bantam, which is a 14 foot hard chine plywood dinghy. I have found that having a set of plans is invaluable in restoration. so I, too. would be interested in getting a full set of plans.
