This year marks the 20th anniversary of the CVRDA and we have a good range of events planned.
The season kicks off at Hunts Sailing Club (St Ives near Cambridge) on 4th & 5th May – the early Bank Holiday weekend where we also welcome the Merlin Rocket Vintage wing and the SigneT class.
The second bank holiday sees a return to sailing’s best kept secret, Clywedog Sailing Club near Llanidloes in mid-Wales. A large and beautiful reservoir in the quietest setting (apart from the sheep!), this is an ideal place for bigger boats to stretch their sails. Launching is available for Flying Fifteens and similar by arrangement.
Hykeham near Lincoln is our venue in early July and there is a return to Banbury Sailing Club in mid July.
August takes us further west with a return to Bowmoor Sailing Club near Lechlade in the Gloucestershire/Wiltshire/Oxfordshire border area and we end the summer with the big 20th anniversary celebrations at Roadford Lake in Devon over August Bank Holiday.
All boats built before 1985 from classes designed before 1965 are welcome. Some smaller venues have length limits however so please check with the organisers before travelling if your boat is over 16ft. New faces are especially welcome and any questions about events may be asked on our forum or Facebook page.
