Both harbour classes had a Bermudan rig. The sail mark was the letters CH. Boats were of clinker or carvel construction. the modern 12ft is a contemporary replica of an original 1930s design, and is built in carvel effect GRP. The 18ft was designed in 1928 (originally the Chichester 18 Restricted Design). The new Boat has a GRP hull fitted out in wood with a laid or painted deck.
