2.4mR | UK |
Also known as 2.4 metre. Single handed displacement keel boat and was originally designed to be a scaled down 6 metre. It is a development class governed by the 2.4mR rule but the Norlin Mk 3 design was adopted in 2004 by IFDS as the single handed Paralympic boat. The helm sits down in the boat facing forward with all the controls within arms reach, the sailing is not physically demanding and racing is done in one open class with men, women, young and old, able bodied and disabled sailors racing together.
