The Firefly was the Olympic single handed class at the 1948 London Games. Originally cold moulded by Fairey Marine, the Firefly is now available in GRP. It is an active class, popular with schools and university sailing clubs for team racing. The early Firefly featured a Reynolds mast with an alloy lower mast and a wooden top section, which was a compromise due to the lack of flexibility of early metal masts.
