This started as an 11ft design based on a Plymouth Sound pram which had a blunt nose which slowed the boat so a sharper bow was used. This was re-designed as a 14ft boat in 1925 and the 11ft version became the Lymington Scow.
The pram originally had a single sail bermuda rig but a jib was added in 1949
