We are hosting an old boats weekend on 21/22 May 2011. If your boat is more than 25 years old, and built to a pre-1965 design then why not come and join us.
The Club is based on the River Trent near the National Watersports Centre. There is plenty of room for parking and trailers and a secure compound for overnight storage. Access to the river is via a short slip and there is about a mile of useful water.
The plan is to start sailing before lunch on Saturday 21st May and finish early afternoon Sunday. Races will be to the 1965 handicaps as published by the CVRDA, and will probably start with a pursuit race.
The Club already has eligible representation from classes such as Albacore, Mirror, Merlin Rocket, National 12, GP14, Enterprise, OK, Solo and Firefly so we should be able to guarantee a good mixed fleet.
Cost for racing prizes and temporary membership is £5 per day. Meals will be available in the Clubhouse for lunch on both days and for a social evening on the Saturday.
There is room for a small number of tents inside the compound with use of the club facilities overnight. Alternatively, there is a large modern campsite 200 metres away. The nearest B&Bs are on Radcliffe Road in West Bridgford, about two miles away.
