CVRDA Meeting & Classic Finn National Championship
With Low Rider Moths as Guests
Saturday 8th June – Sunday 9th June 2012

1) Organising Authority:
The Organising Authority is
Roadford Lake Sailing Club in conjunction with the CVRDA and Classic Finn Group

2) Rules:
2.1 The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules Sailing 2013-2016
(“RRS”) , the prescriptions of the RYA, and for the Finns the rules of the International Finn Class and the British Finn Association, this N.O.R. and the Supplementary Sailing Instructions. Appendix P, Special Procedures for Rule 42, will apply.
Finn Continuous Pumping over 10 knots WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

3) Eligibility and Entry: All boats conforming to the Rules of the CVRDA (including Finns) shall be counted towards points. Other boats admitted shall be at the discretion of the Organisers and will not be awarded times or positions. Low rider Moths will if qualifying for the CVRDA be included in the CVRDA series. There will be separate prizes for the Moth series.

Entrants and authorised guests are temporary members of Roadford Lake Sailing Club during the period of the event and shall comply with Club Rules and Bylaws.

4) Entry fee:
The entry fee will be £30. Entries will be taken on the day. Late entries are acceptable

5) Advertising:
In accordance with ISAF regulation 20.3 (d) (i), boats shall display on each side of the bow while racing any advertising supplied by the event organiser at registration.

6) Registration:
This will take place in the Administration Building between 10.00hrs-11.00hrs on Saturday and Friday evening 19.00hrs – 20.00hrs at the covered area near BBQ. Late entries are acceptable to Event Organiser ( Alan Williams) after Saturdays racing.

7) Briefing: Saturday
Fun race briefing. One off race does not count for points
This will take place at 10.30hrs in the area of the lakeside hut at top of the slipway on Saturday 8th

Flags
The Warning signal will be a flag identification of which will be given at Briefing. Classic Finns will sail under their Class Flag.

The Race Committee may bring forward a race or races but there will be no more than 3 races per day. Any change to the schedule of races will be made before 19:00 hrs. on the preceding day. There will be no warning signal
after 15:00 hrs. on the last day except for a general recall.

9) Sailing area and courses:
The sailing area will be on Roadford Lake. Courses sailed will be club courses set on the day.

10) Sailing Instructions:
These will be available from the Race Office on completion of registration or from the RLSC

11) Scoring:
Three completed races are required to constitute a series. One discard will apply if between 4 and 6 races are completed.

12) Safety and Disclaimer of Liability:
12.1 A competitor is responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility.

12.2 It is for the competitor to decide whether they are fit to sail in the conditions. By going afloat the competitor confirms they are fit and competent to sail and compete in those conditions.

12.3 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the liability of the competitor nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may occur, as a result of the boat taking part in the series. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and include the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and beach masters.

12.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the competitor of his/her responsibilities.

12.5 Each boat is required to hold adequate insurance and in particular against third party claims of at least £2,000,000.

12.6 Personal Buoyancy must be worn at all times whilst on the water. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

13) Boat Parking:
Boats should be left in the boat park, or as directed by a member of the event organising team.

14) Car Parking:
Cars should be parked in the car park as directed. No cars in the boat park please.

15) Prize-giving:
This will be in the area of the Watersports Centre as soon as possible after completion of racing on Sunday.

16) Changes to Sailing Instructions:

Reminder this is a CVRDA Event and Published Times may Change. All Competitors will be notified of any changes verbally at the briefings.

The centre has camping on site which is bookable online at Roadford Lake Camping  This is a commercial operation and will need to be booked well in advance on summer weekends.
