Roadford is one of the best lakes in the UK for sailing, and the welcome is always warm, so why not get a late pass and come on down for a long weekend?!

Roadford Lake Sailing Club the spiritual home of the CVRDA.
All eligible boats including Cats are very welcome to the RLSC CVRDA meeting to sail on are beautiful big lake. (Biggest stretch of fresh water in the West Country),
The meeting will be held over three days.
Format
Saturday two races in the afternoon
Bring your own food to burn (we will supply the charcoal), and Cider!!!
Sunday three races
Visit to local pub in evening
Monday two races
Prize giving and early get away for travelers.

1) Organising Authority:
The Organising Authority is
Roadford Lake Sailing Club in conjunction with the CVRDA
2) Rules:
2.1 The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules Sailing 2009-2012, the prescriptions of the RYA, Association, this N.O.R. and the Supplementary Sailing Instructions.
3) Eligibility and Entry:
The regatta is open to all persons having craft eligible as defined by the CVRDA and being members of the Assoc. Association fee’s can be paid on entry. Eligible boats may pre enter by completing the entry form available from the RLSC and sending it the address given. This will greatly assist us in pre organising the event and matching resources to entry numbers.
Entrants and authorised guests are temporary members of Roadford Lake Sailing Club during the period of the event and shall comply with Club Rules and Bylaws.
4) Entry fee:
The entry fee will be £30.00. Entries can be made by post or email before the event (preferred), or at registration at the times stated below.
5) Registration:
This will take place in the Race Office from 17:00 – 20:00 hrs on Friday 28th May and from 08:00 – 10:00 hrs Saturday 29th May. Late entries are acceptable.
6) Briefing:
This will take place at 13.30 hrs in the area of the lakeside hut on Saturday 29ththMay.
Schedule of Races:
Monday Time of Warning Signal
Race 1 10.00hrs
The Warning signal will be the CVRDA Flag. The Race Committee may bring forward a race or races but there will be no more than 3 races per day. Any change to the schedule of races will be made before 19:00 hrs on the preceding day. There will be no warning signal after 15:00 hrs on the last day except for a general recall.
9) Sailing area and courses:
The sailing area will be on Roadford Lake. Courses sailed will be around Club buoys. With the first leg being started from a Committee boat . Start line will be between Committee boat and adjacent mark. Finish will be between adjacent mark and Committee Boat.
10) Sailing Instructions:
These will be available from the Race Office on completion of registration or from the RLSC website
11) Scoring:
Three completed races are required to constitute a series. One discard will apply if between 4 and 6 races are completed and two discards if 7 races are completed.
12) Safety and Disclaimer of Liability:
12.1 A competitor is responsible for their own safety, whether afloat or ashore and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or Sailing instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility.
12.2 It is for the competitor to decide whether they are fit to sail in the conditions. By going afloat the competitor confirms they are fit and competent to sail and compete in those conditions.
12.3 Nothing done by the organisers can reduce the liability of the competitor nor will it make the organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death or personal injury, however it may occur, as a result of the boat taking part in the series. The organisers encompass everyone helping to run the race and include the organising authority, the race committee, the race officer, patrol boats and beach masters.
12.4 The provision of patrol boats does not relieve the competitor of his/her responsibilities.
12.5 Each boat is required to hold adequate insurance and in particular against third party claims of at least £2,000,000.
13) Boat Parking:
Boats should be left in the boat park, or as directed by a member of the event organising team.
14) Car Parking:
Cars should be parked in the car park as directed. No cars in the boat park please.
15) Prize-giving:
This will be in the area of the Watersports Centre as soon as possible after completion of racing onMonday.
16) Changes to Sailing Instructions:
All changes will be posted at least one hour before the start of the race(s) affected.
